The Onboarding Specialist will work closely with the Recruiter and hiring supervisors to coordinate and implement the onboarding process while playing a critical role in establishing rapport and a strong relationship with new employees. The Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for understanding the needs of new employees, scheduling training, and setting them up for success. The Onboarding Specialist will provide support to the HR team including screening and interview of applicants and conducting new hire orientations

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and abilities for this position: 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with supervisors and frontline employees.
  • Direct Support Professional experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with on the job training processes preferred.
  • Excellent (intermediate / advanced) computer skills especially Microsoft Excel and Word; HRIS a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently for day-to-day tasks to ensure onboarding goals and priorities are met.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be personable with excellent people skills.

Education and Experience

Associates or Bachelor's degree in training & development, human resources development, or relevant experience.

Bilingual (English Spanish), a plus
